Absolutely nothing is printed before it is ordered. Everything is made to order expressly for each customer, reflecting his or her personal sense of style.
When working with Simply Silhouettes, you work directly with the artist. You also play an integral role in the design process yourself by choosing the layout, customizing the colors and selecting whatever text, if any, you’d like – a name, monogram or announcement.
We pride ourselves on our exemplary customer service. Customer satisfaction is our top priority. Our happy customers can vouch for that.
Unlike hand cut silhouettes, by producing our silhouettes digitally, your options are unlimited in terms of color, size and the variety of products on which we can put the silhouette. And if you want a silhouette on a product that we don’t currently offer, we will do our best to make that happen.
We use archival quality inks, papers and canvas for our silhouette prints and canvases. As a result, your silhouettes will maintain their vibrant colors for years to come, making them true heirlooms.
Here's how to simply create your own silhouette:
1.) Choose your product(s) from our collection.
2.) Click the add to cart button next to each product and make your payment with Paypal.
3.) Fill out the customization form (on the left of each product page) to let us know
how to personalize each product just for you.
4.) Email your profile images to images@simplysilhouettes.com and we'll email a proof back
to you within 3-5 business days. (If you haven't heard back from us in that time, please check
your junkmail folder.) At this time you can make any design adjustments.
5.) Approve your final design.
6.) You will receive your completed order within 3-4 weeks. If you need it sooner,
please contact us regarding your options.
How can I order your products?
To place an order for any of our products, we have several options available:
Online: Products can be ordered directly from the product pages on this website
By Telephone: 360.991.9721. If we’re not in the office, we’re most likely on parent
duty, so please leave a message and we’ll return your call promptly.
How long will it take to get my order?
We begin on your order as soon as we receive it. You can expect to receive your order
in approximately one month. Most orders will be shipped before that time. If you’re in a
rush, consider a gift certificate that can be delivered via email. Click here for details.
Within 3-5 business days*, you will receive a proof of your order. Please look over the proof carefully and let us know either by phone or by email if you have anything you want us to change
or if it is ready to print. We will wait up to 72 hours for your approval before sending your pieces into production. If you won't be available to review your proof during this time period, please call
or email us and let us know when you can review your proofs.
*During busy times, it may take up to a week for your proof, but we will always
do our best to get it to you sooner.
Shipping
All orders must be paid in full prior to shipping. Our shipping rates to all addresses within the continental U.S. are as follows: $0 to $25 is $5. $25 to $50 is $8. Over $50 is $10.* Please
contact us for shipping rates when shipping to multiple addresses or outside the continental U.S.
If you live in the Portland/Vancouver-metro area, we would be happy to deliver your silhouettes
to you in person!
We use USPS Priority Mail for most of our shipping. We can use other carriers upon request (additional charges may apply).
*Due to the higher weight and packaging necessary, silhouettes printed on
gallery wrapped canvases will be charged a different rate. You will be given
a shipping and handling estimate after placing your order.
Sales Tax
Sales tax will be added for Washington residents.
Returns and Exchanges
There are no refunds because all of our products are made to order. If there is a manufacturing defect, you can return the product within 30 days and it will be fixed at no cost - but please
contact us first.
If you are unhappy with your purchase, please contact us and we will work together to make sure you are satisfied with your product. There may be some cost involved, depending on what needs
to be done
Do you do custom orders?
As always, we welcome the opportunity to exchange ideas about your silhouettes. We are
delighted to work with you on everything from choosing the color scheme or size and design
ideas for your home.
We also welcome collaboration with Interior Decorators and Designers. Please feel free to
contact us via email or telephone. You can also send us swatches if you're matching your room decor. (As with all of our custom work, additional fees will apply.)
How do I take the perfect photo?
It’s really quite simple, just place your subject, either sitting or standing, in profile, in a well-lit room or outside, against a light background. Use a flash when possible. They can be facing either right or left. Position yourself on the same eye level as your subject so that you are looking neither up nor down at the subject as you are taking the picture. You should be 4 approximately four feet from your subject. The subject should have a relaxed, natural expression on their face. Sometimes, open mouths work on a silhouette. Other times, not so much. Do your best to get a closed mouth shot. We realize that this can be a challenge with little ones, but do your best. NOTE: We cannot close
a mouth that is open in a photo. Be sure to include the entire head and shoulders. If you are photographing multiple subjects, please take their pictures individually.
What types of photos do you accept?
We can use digital images or traditional prints. With digital images, larger images are much, much better than smaller ones. Click here if you have any questions. Please make sure that all of your images are labeled with the subject’s name. All prints will be returned to you with your order.
How do I get my images to you?
Digital images should be emailed to images@simplysilhouettes.com. Please mail your prints to: Simply Silhouettes, 302 NW 150th Way, Vancouver, WA 98685. Your prints will be returned
to you with your order. Please make sure that all of your prints are labeled.
What should the subject wear?
Clothing is not important, but a simple neckline works best.
I have a lot of profile shots. How can I tell which one is the best?
Try and select the one which looks the most like the subject. If you’re unsure, please send extra photos; just make sure they’re labeled with the subject’s name. All photoswill be returned.
What are the correct initials to use for a monogram?
You should use the initials representing the first, maiden or middle name, and last name. The initial
for the last name should appear larger in the center with the first name initial to the left and the
middle or maiden name initial to the right.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept personal checks, money orders and payment through Paypal
(including Visa, Mastercard and e-checks.)
Is anything printed on the back of the notecards?
Yes. SimplySilhouettes.com is printed on the back of each notecard. (Just so you know.)
Will my final piece look exactly as it does on my monitor?
We try to get the color as close as possible to what you see on your screen, but as computer monitors vary widely, we cannot guarantee an exact color match.
